Description
Variations op. 2 were written in 2018. The basis for Variations op. 2, the melodic line is taken from the collection of Gagauz songs, which is reflected in the theme and harmonized in a certain way. I turned to Gagauz folklore not only because I am a native of Gagauzia, but also because of the limited reflection of Gagauz folklore in academic music. The rhythmic division was associated with the display of the specificity of the Gagauz size. Already in the topic itself, we observe a change of 6/8, 7/8, 8 / 8.5 / 8, 4/8, 3/4, 2/4. This necessitates a lot of further work with dimensions. Further rhythmic transformation brings us to such complex time signatures as 7/16 or 5/16, which is typical for Gagauz music. This development is generally based on the influence and presence of Bulgarian and Turkish culture in Gagauz music. This is reflected in the characteristic modal melodic structures and specific rhythm.
